IN ORDER TO ENTER TO AN EXAM WHICH IS FROM THE PREVIOUS EDUCATIONAL YEAR YOU HAVE TO TAKE A PROTOCOL (OFFICE 3242). THE PROTOCOL GIVES THE RIGHT TO ENTER TO AN EXAM AND A MARK TO BE WRITTEN IN THE UISS SYSTEM.

These are the guidelines for those of you who are going to have Diploma Thesis.
 
Diploma defence will begin at the announced time for the days in hall: 3236. The appearance will be according to the list order. A student, who skip his/her turn is going to be replaced by the next on the list.
Defence will go like this:
A. The applicant shall present his/her thesis (NOT THE TOPIC AND CONTENT OF WORK, A THESIS!)
2. Applicant submissions of the thesis DEMONSTRATING thesis - Indicate honors and pages of thesis where he has developed
3. Applicant meets the issues raised in REVIEWS ISSUES AND CRITICAL NOTES

4. Applicant meets the questions from the Commission

Common assesment is formed based on quality training, ASSESSMENT Reviewer Commission's assessment. Assessment commission are for work and performance evaluation of the end mark

DIPLOMA (Pre-Diploma) PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

1. Title and Contents related to Mechanical Engineering (in general).

2. Pre-Diploma Project is done during the VIII semester. The project is included: state of the art on the topic, structure of the Diploma Project and List of References. Volume: 15-20 pages with the title page. The dead line for pre-diploma project is 18.05.2013.

Supervisor is chosen by the students.

The Project will be reviewed by the Supervisor and Assoc. prof. G. Hadjikosev.

The students have to give in student’s office 1copy of Pre- Diploma Project Assignment in English and in Bulgarian.

3. The Diploma assignment (Final variant) must be ready one week after dead line for pre-diploma project. That means to 25.05.2013.The diploma assignment must have signatures from the Supervisor, Deputy Dean, Dean and some times Consultant. The official stamp is putted on The Diploma assignment ONLY if the student has marks or other necessary assessment (as обходен лист and a photo) for all subjects from the curriculum. The assignment should be filled in 2 forms (download the new form from announces) in using a computer and confirmed by the supervisors. The forms should be given in office No: 3242, after 3 days you will get back one of them and should add it in covers.

4. The printed (Font size 14, Margins: Top – 2.5, Left – 2.5, Right – 1.5, Bottom – 2.5, Justify) and bound Diploma Project must contain:

4. 1. Title page and Assignment page with signatures and official stamp

4. 2. Volume of the Bound: 40 - 60 pages, minimum 10 figures. Structure of contents must be the same as in the diploma assignment including list of references with more than 10 titles referenced in the text, annexes etc.

5. The Diploma Project has to be presented with at least 10- 30 slides using Power Point within approximate 10 minutes.

6. The Diploma Project complete with the Review (the Supervisor will point who will be the Reviewer) has to be submitted to 28.06.2013 in the office of faculty (room 3242).

7. The date of presentation will be from 02.07.2013 to 06.07.2013 and will be announced on 01.07.2013.

4. Contents: depends on subject of the project: design, technology, metrology, economics, engineering logistics, computer integrated manufacturing, modeling and simulation, CNC, CAD/CAM and others. Every project supervisor must draw up final year project ASSIGNMENT till 25.05.2013. In general it may include several divisions: introduction (some words for the subject in general), state of the art and trends (what is done till now, how the real process is looking, how the subject is solved, the trends), design of the subject (design, technology, economics, algorithms, programs etc; including variants, calculation, using CAD), drawings of the designed subject (drawings, models, programs, simulation, experiments, results), justification (preferably economical or others), conclusions, others (if needed).

FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS, FULL-TIME EDUCATION
Dear new students,

Welcome to Faculty of Mechanical Engineering!


Academic year at Technical University starts in October 1st, 2012. The meeting of Faculty management with all incoming first year students will take place on the same day (as the hall number and time become available, they will be announced in front of office 3242). During the meeting, the new students will receive their student record books. In the morning of the same day, in front of office 3242 will be given information about the students’ groups and streams of study. Every student has to attend classes according to the schedule of the group in which is enrolled.
On these pages you will find information about the education process in Technical University of Sofia, which we hope will be useful for you.


  1. The Academic year 2012/2013 is divided into two semesters: WINTER 2012 (01.10.2012 - 19.01.2013) and SUMMER 2013 (11.02.2013 - 01.06.2013). The attendance of all classes (lectures, laboratory exercises and seminars) is obligatory.

  2. Students are divided into education streams, groups and subgroups. Each study group has a person responsible for the group (group leader) who ensures contacts between administrative body and the group.

  3. The students validate the semester on the base of collected signatures in their student books obtained from their lecturers for all lectures, laboratory exercises, projects, study practices and sports.

4. The group leader submits all student books at the administrative office for semester validation no later than two days after the end of the semester.

5. The students are permitted to enter to the exams only with validated semester. Bellow are the session dates for this academic year:

WINTER session: 21.01.2013 - 09.02.2013.

SUMMER session: 03.06.2013 - 22.06.2013.

Supplementary /corrective/ examination session:

24.06.2013 – 06.07.2013.



Liquidation examination session: one week before the new educational year

After every exam session there is one week corrective exam session.



  1. Within the framework of one academic year, the students are permitted to sit for an exam a maximum of three times for every subject - once per session. That rule applies to the announced examination sessions.

  2. The students who have failed exams from the previous educational years have to take protocol from office:3242 in order to enter to the exam. Protocols will be given after the exams only if the mark of that exam is written in the student book.

  3. The marks of the disciplines are written during the exam session. The student is responsible if he/has unwritten marks in the systems.

  4. At the beginning of every semester (I, II, III,, IV) the students have to register in office 3242 for optional subject (sport or Bulgarian lessons).

  5. During all the period of education, only one interruption is allowed (due to non validated semester; more than the maximum allowed number of failed exams, or lack of registration for the academic year).

  6. Registration for a new academic year or a subsequent semester is accomplished no later than one week after the beginning of the semester. Under the registration, the student must present a semester tuition fee receipt (and copy of a request if they have) and student book.

  7. The assessments obtained from the previous semesters are the main criterion for division into groups of elective subjects.

  8. In case of illness, professional, personal or other good reason which affects the studies, the students should address to the Dean for assistance by handing in an application at office 3242

  9. Registration, semester validation and students’ certificates are accomplished at the administrative office for student’s service – 3242. The students must present their student record books when they visit the administrative office.

  10. On the notice-boards located in front of administrative office 3242 and on the web page (http://mf.tu-sofia.bg/engedu/) are announced messages concerning organization and implementation of the education process, which has to be followed by the students.

  11. The conditions for obtaining a scholarship are announced on the notice-board located in front of administrative office 3242 .

  12. Internship is obligatory during the summer of 2nd year (15 working days) and the summer of 3rd year(15 working days). You have the opportunity to make it parallel (15+15=30)during the summer of second or third year.

  13. A transcript is prepared in period of 10 working days.

  14. The library and reading room of Technical University are located in Building ІI.

  15. Only the students with dual citizenship (one of them Bulgarian) have the right of health insurance and have to fill a declaration at beginning of every academic year. Those who do not fill the declaration in one month from the beginning of the semester are going to loose the health insurance for the academic year.

Information for candidates who want to enroll for II course
The documents which are needed:

1.Diploma

2.Transcript

3.Course Content

Documents 1,2,3 should be legally verified and translated.

Steps:
1. Have to be registered in the first block (Foreign Students Department) 1154A, 1154B
2. After the registration in the first block, from office 3242 you will receive a document (SVEDENIE).
3.With the document and the needed documents (diploma, academic transcript and course content) you will get the list of the lecturers, whom have to be visited in order to accept the disciplines studied in Turkey or in other country.
4.After recognition of at least 7 disciplines from the first year you may continue your bachelor education from the second year. The disciplines not recognized in the first year will be visited along with courses from second year. The disciplines of the first winter semester will be taken together with the disciplines of the winter semester of the second course, and the disciplines in summer semester of the first course will be taken during the summer semester of the second course.
5. After returning the document back to the office(3242) the students cannot take back the documents.
6. In order to validate the semester, the students have to collect all the signatures (unrecognized disciplines in the document winter/summer + 2nd course signatures winter/summer semester) in their students books.

If there is a missing signature for the semester you have the right of red/dean’s signature. You can use red/ dean’s signature only once during your education. But using it means that during the next year you will visit the lectures/ laboratories and get the signature from which you have used red/ dean’s signature. This kind of right can be used only once during your all education.


Completed a two-year university / college in Turkey can only recognize the first year disciplines according to the Technical University’s curriculum .


The students cannot:

-start their education from 3rd year.

-recognize disciplines of the 2nd course according to the Technical University’s curriculum .


THE STUDENTS FROM SPECIALTIES “MECHANICAL ENGINEERING” AND “MECHATRONIC SYSTEMS”

HAVE TO BRING TWO COPIES OF THEIR BULGARIAN AND TURKISH IDENTITY CARDS.
