Европейската година на равните възможности за всички: официален партньор на конкурса за песен Евровизия 2007



Европейската година на равните възможности за всички (2007 г.) има удоволствието да обяви официалното си партньорство с песенния конкурс Евровизия 2007. За пръв път от близо двадесет години официална инициатива на Европейския съюз се свързва с международния музикален фестивал, обединяващ европейците от целия континент. Основните цели на Европейската година са да изтъкне ползите от многообразието и да поощри изявата на равните възможности за всички.

Владимир Шпидла, член на Европейската комисия, отговарящ за трудовата заетост, социалната политика и равните възможности, каза по този повод: „Песенният конкурс Евровизия е чудесна платформа за информиране на хората за правото им на равно отнасяне и за разпространение на ползите от многообразието в цяла Европа. Каква по-добра среда от едно динамично голямо европейско развлекателно събитие, което събира всички различни култури и нюанси на Европа?“

Антидискриминационното законодателство на ЕС е едно от най-развитите в света. И въпреки това само една трета от гражданите знаят правата си в случай, че станат жертва на дискриминация. Същевременно 64% от европейците са на мнение, че дискриминацията е широко разпространена в техните страни, а 51% считат, че не се прави достатъчно за борбата с дискриминацията.

По време на седмицата на Евровизия, която ще се проведе от 5 до 12 май в центъра на Хелзинки, кампанията на Европейската година ще разполага със свой павилион в селцето на Евровизия, от където ще разпространява посланията си. Там тя ще предоставя на посетителите информация за равните възможности и многообразието и ще стане домакин на редица развлекателни изяви. Чрез щанд в пресцентъра на Евровизия Европейската година ще изпрати своето послание и до близо 2000 журналисти, които се очаква да присъстват на събитието.

Дейността на Европейската година по време на Евровизия 2007 ще достигне апогея си на Деня на Европа, сряда, 9 май. Специално внимание ще бъде отделено на младите хора и на техните възможности да изявят своя певчески талант и танцьорски умения.

Целите на Европейската година на равните възможности за всички (2007 г.) са да информира европейците за тяхното право на недискриминация и равни възможности, да създава нови стимули за успешно противодействие на дискриминацията и да предизвика оживен дебат за ползите от многообразието.

2007 Европейска година обръща главно внимание на дискриминацията, основана на пол, расова или етническа принадлежност, религия или убеждения, възраст или сексуална ориентация. Това са все поводи за дискриминация, на които европейското законодателство може да се противопостави.



Песенен конкурс Евровизия

От първото си излъчване през 1956 г., годишният песенен конкурс Евровизия вече се е превърнал в ценна европейска традиция с около 100 милиона европейски зрители и още по-широка публика извън 42-те участващи страни. Петдесет и второто издание на песенния конкурс Евровизия ще се проведе в Хелзинки, Финландия - страната на групата Лорди, която спечели през 2006 г., спазвайки по този начин традицията събитието да се провежда в страната на произход на победителя от предишната година.
