Project “Nuclear European Platform of Training and University Organisations”

Целта на проекта “Европейска платформа за ядрено обучение и университетски организации” е по-добро интегрирано Европейско образование и обучение по ядрено инженерство и безопасност. Проектът е насочен към хармонизиран подход за образование и обучение по ядрено инженерство в Европа и неговото изпълнение, вкл. по-добра интеграция на националните (правителствени и промишлени) ресурси и възможности. Очакваните резултати са действаща мрежа за обучение и дългосрочни схеми за академично образование на магистърски, докторски и след-докторски нива. Проектът предвижда пътна карта за ядрено инженерство в Европа, организиране на модерни курсове в избрани отлични центрове и създаване на ядро от училища за докторанти по ядрено инженерство и знания.

The aim of the project “Nuclear European Platform of Training and University Organisations” is to better integrate European education and training in nuclear engineering and safety. The project focuses on a harmonised approach for education and training in nuclear engineering in Europe and its implementation, including the better integration of national (governmental as well as industrial) resources and capabilities. The expected result is an operational network for training and life-long learning schemes on academic education at the master, doctoral and post-doctoral level. The project forresee a roadmap for nuclear education in Europe, organising of teach advanced courses at selected centres of excellence, creating nuclei of excellence for doctoral schools in nuclear engineering and sciences.

The Safety and Environmental Engineering Laboratory (SEEL) was created in 1993 within the framework of the Electrical Power Department. The Laboratory has a small team of researches and specialists and it contracts outside experts on a project to project basis depending on the specific project requirements. Furthermore the Laboratory encourages cooperation with foreign companies executing projects in Bulgaria.

SEEL has high competition in the environmental sector and in the safety in most their aspects in Bulgaria and also in the countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The Head of SEEL Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Ivanov and researches of the laboratory have completed various projects in Bulgaria in the field of Environmental Protection, Risk analysis, Monitoring, Waste Management, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Bio-energy Production from Timber Waste, Disposal of the waste, etc.
