Assoc. Prof., PhD Ventzislav Velev is a lecturer at SULSIT - Sofia. His interests are related to the study of the events from the Bulgarian history from the end of the 19th century to the present, the policies for the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage, the intangible cultural heritage of Bulgaria and the policies of UNESCO.
Abstract:"Preserving" and "promoting" cultural diversity is one of the important activities worldwide. Developed and supported by various international organizations such as UNESCO and the Council of Europe, it finds its best application in Bulgaria through the activities of the network of community centers. The principles of democracy, tolerance and respect for the right of everyone to have access to culture and education fully impress the ideas set out in the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
